First Man is scripted by Josh Singer and directed by Damien Chazelle. The film is produced by Wyck Godfrey, Martyn Bowen, Issac Klausner and Damien Chazelle. Steven Spielberg is the executive producer. The film has the star cast of Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, Corey Stoll, Christopher Abbott, Ciaran Hinds, Lukas Haas and Patrick Fugit. Justin Hurwitz is the music composer. Linus Sandgren is the cinematographer and Tom Cross is the editor.
The film deals with the mindset of Neil Armstrong, the first man who landed the moon. Armstrong had a lot of personal losses, even though he has got the name first man on the moon. The professional problems he faced and his mentality before and after his moon landing are depicted in the film.
Gosling had done an excellent job in portraying Neil Armstrong. He emotes excellently well. Claire plays Neil’s wife Janet and she had emoted well, not a bit lesser than Gosling.
The director has brought a wonderful biographical movie. Not all know about the personal life of Armstrong, his difficulties, his feelings etc. The director had portrayed it well and made the audiences travel with the story. The dialogues are very natural and that is the reason it attracts the audiences. Janet’s revelation about Neil is good and that reflects the mentality of every one of the people, who had dedicated their life to research. The cinematography, editing and the VFX works are brilliant and the BGM is good.
