developed the screenplay and directed the film. Also, he is one among the movie’s producers. The movie hit screens on February 24, 2012. The film happens to be Perry’s eleventh directorial venture in which he has done a role.Â
Tyler Perry emerges as a rich business magnet Wesley Deeds in the movie. He had always been meeting expectations he kindled. He had been following a routine all along. But, Wesley is thrown off his feet when he meets Lindsey Wakefield. Lindsey is finding it difficult to make the ends meet and is the mother of a kid. Her relationship with former fiancé is broken. Wesley helps her take stock of the situation. Regardless of his previous engagement, Wesley romances Lindsey. But suddenly, Lindsey realizes that he has to choose between meeting expectations and fulfilling his requirements.Â
The plot unfolds with Deeds meeting Lindsey in a parking lot. By mistake, her car is in his parking space. He is obviously upset. But, as he finds that she has left behind her child in the car, he grows curious. He learns about the misery that the woman is in. He takes efforts to pull her out of the quagmire.Â
Eventually, Wesley develops a love for her, and he knows he has to change his course in life. The characters in Tyler Perry movies are always the battered ones. This feature makes his movies stereotyped, predictable and boring to watch. There is a slight difference in the movie as it hints on some politics. The movie is all about coming to terms with what happiness is.Â
Tyler Perry as Wesley Deeds turns good at last. But he could have made the movie a better and interesting one. It is a movie with a good message in it. But still, it would have had greater appeal among audiences if the clichés were not there.
