Green Book is a comedy movie scripted by Nick Vallelonga, Brian Hayes Currie and Peter Farrelly. Besides co-scripting the film, Peter Farrelly directed it too. Don Vito edited the film. The film has the star cast of Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali, Linda Cardellini, Dimeter Marinov, Mike Hatton, Iqbal Theba, Sebastian Maniscalco, PJ Byrne, Montrel Miller, Dennis W Hall, Randal Gonzalez and Maggie Nixon.
Don Shirley is a pianist and he is on his way to a concert tour. Don is an African – American. Meanwhile, he hires Tony Lip Vallelonga, the Italian – American as a bouncer cum driver for his concert tour. During their travel, they develop a bonding, which is beyond racism. This real-life story deals with the intolerance, communal clashes, loneliness and some bonding between the humans.
Mahershala Ali had performed extremely well. His teary-eyed scene is quite natural and he gets appreciation from the audiences. Viggo had also done his part well.
The script is designed well and the screenplay is dealt impressively. The star selection is quite impressive and both the lead stars suit their roles extremely well. There are a lot of performance-oriented scenes. The dialogues and their body language are also impressive. The film clearly showcases the racism, but it also had projected the bonding beyond the racism. The music and the cinematography are good.
What’s Not There?
Green Book comes with a good script that impresses the audiences with its screenplay, direction and the performance. If you love watching drama kind of movies with performances and without big action sequences, then this will impress you!
