The British movie Hammer of the Gods hit the screens in 2013. The movie falls into the category of action movies. Farren Blackburn directed the movie. The movie hit the screens on July 5th, 2013. The movie is about the son of a dying father who goes in search of his elder brother. Charlie Bewley has done the role of the Viking. It is all about a brother cheating on his clan, and there is a battle throughout the movie.

The younger brother feels, the elder brother is the right choice to help in warding off enemies and saving the clan from peril. He has to change his brother’s mind, and both have to team up. The action scenes are pretty cool but without purpose. The battles do not help in making the movie a better one. The movie is good as a creative effort. But, the director has used it as an excuse for some flaws in it. The plot is set in an era that pins the audiences to their seats.

But, the movie lacks a good hero and a climax. The movie has been made with a restricted budget, and the script is lousy. The backdrop in the movie is least attractive. Those audiences who expect some color in the movie should opt for some other movie. The movie’s scenes have a refined beauty. The scenes have been shot in foggy conditions that bring in moodiness amidst watchers. The delivery by the actors does not arrest the audience’s attention, but, at least, manages not to disappoint them. The plot is weak, and the actors cannot do anything about it. Screenplay writer Matthew has not come up with success this time.

Theo Barklem-Biggs does the role of battered Vali, and his performance outshines the performance by other actors. He has taken up the whole responsibility of carrying the story on his shoulders otherwise stale movie. In the lead role, Bewley has surprisingly disappointed audiences. The director has made a stereotyped movie of the genre. He seems to have avoided risks. But in the attempt, innovation has been left behind. It is not the type of movie that would arrest you to your seat till the climax.
