Plot

This movie follows the journey of Hiccup, as he fulfills his responsibility of being a leader to Berk and his beloved dragon community. Hiccup and Toothless go on a search for a safe home for Hiccup's kin, they stumble upon Hidden World's mention, everything they could ever want. At the same time, they are facing threats from dragon hunters and Grimmel, who wants to capture the dragons under Hiccup's care. Both of them go on a journey to unravel the mystery of Hidden World. The movie then follows their conquest as they navigate their way through hardships and the choices that might make or break Brek's future. With its brilliant storytelling and emotional elements, this movie does an excellent job of entertaining the audience.

Star Performances

This third movie in the trilogy has various notable names as voice artists, so it would be unfair to name anyone. However, the team that should be credited are the animators and visual effects team since they compiled the entire movie so meticulously that this film is still appreciated by the audience for its realistic animation and visually pleasant scenes. Their efforts need to be appreciated the most.

Analysis

This film has undoubtedly succeeded in giving the best closure to the trilogy of How to Train Your Dragon since this is the last addition. This movie is filled with so much goodness that it seems like a hug for someone who has been here since the beginning. Its themes include emotional resonance, camaraderie, bravery, and pure love for one's motherland and its people. The protagonist Hiccup, along with Toothless, teaches the audience various lessons as they try to navigate their way through hardships. The good is balanced with bad, and the antagonist Grimmel although evil, is appreciated by the audience. Viewers at times resonate with Grimmel. Also, along with the main plot, the character development of Hiccup, Grimmel, or Toothless isn't forgotten. The last addition weaves a story so beautifully there are no questions left unanswered for the viewers. The most commendable parts are the visual effects, for instance, the way the “hidden world” is crafted or how dragons are shown. Often films fault with animations; They don't seem realistic enough, but not this one.

What’s There?

  • The screenwriters execute an accurate conclusion to the conflict at hand without any complexities.
  • The screenplay also focuses on the emotional aspects of life.

What’s not There?

  • The plot seems predictable as compared to the previous two movies.
  • The critics note pacing issues in the movie.

Verdict

The last addition to the trilogy will make you cry in the best way possible. It gives the perfect closure to this trilogy, a mesmerizing treat for the fans from day one. With its emotional resemblance, every viewer can connect with the turmoil characters are going through. How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World, is a definite watch no matter the mood you are in; Once you finish watching it, suddenly everything will be better.
