Plot

Elise Rainier is a parapsychologist. When she was young, she finds out that her house is haunted. But, her father doesn’t believe her and beats her. After her mother’s death, Elise runs out of the house. Years later, she receives a phone call stating that a house is haunted and her help is needed. But to her shock, she comes to know that it was the house, where she grew up. Elise travels to the place with two investigators. What happens next? Did she clear the demon? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

Lin Shaye’s performance is superb and she has excelled as usual. Leigh Whannell’s performance is also noteworthy. All the other characters have done justice to the roles given.

Analysis

Insidious: The Last Key has a lot of thrilling elements. The director knows the pulse of the horror genre audiences and had worked out a lot. Each and every scene in the film is perfectly planned. Production values are really superb and the sound effects chill. Emotional scenes are really fantastic. Art direction is fantastic too.

What’s There?

  • Performance of the stars are good
  • The script is good than in the previous films
  • Screenplay is neat
  • Editing, direction and cinematography are good
  • The BGM and the sound effects are thrilling and they gel with the script

What’s Not There?

  • Except for minor flaws, nothing could be pinpointed as negative.

Verdict          

Although the film doesn’t have many spooky elements, it is filled with thrill and emotions. Insidious: The Last Key could be watched once!
