CAST & CREW
Plot: Lucy, a student, studies in Taiwan, is tricked by her boyfriend to transport the drugs to places. He gets killed, and his boss stitches few bags of drugs forcibly into her abdomen. When Lucy gets kidnapped, her kidnapper kicks on her abdomen and the drug material gets dissolved inside her. She starts to sense many supernatural powers such as telepathy within her and her brain capacity reaches to 100%.
She visits a hospital and gets most of the material removed. She also gets to know about the side effects and various physical and mental abilities developing in her body. Lucy visits Jang, the drug mafia (who was the boss for her boyfriend) and extracts the details about where the remaining three drug mules has traveled. In spite of so much of hurdles, Lucy collects all the drug packets and visits professor. Samuel Norman. Her body disintegrates and spreads over the computers in the lab and disappears.
The narration seems to be poor as no one was sharing much of their views properly. I guess the director would have expected us to understand on our own based on their performance. He has stretched a small concept for a long stretch.
Lucy finds herself capable of escaping or facing any scenario using all her abilities such as telepathy, telekinesis, etc. So we miss experiencing some excitement, suspense or tension to finish off something since everything happens just like that for Lucy. Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) work in visuals were so appealing to the audience.
Lucy’s performance as a normal woman and a lady who has achieved 100% efficiency were interesting. The transition made by her was good.
Verdict: if you always look for some logic, sorry; this movie is not for you.!
