A different concept, a different perception, a different message. With 13 different characters is a beautifully woven string of contemporary piece of art that might not be everyone's cup of tea. Plot

It is a series of different time periods, and the manifestos brought out by various note-worthy and famous people of all times. The movie is the way they have been perceived and brought forward. The film has 13 characters played by Cate Blanchett in various times showcasing a different approach every time.

Analysis

The movie is not a piece of art everyone will enjoy, it offers many questions, and they are all unanswered throughout thus left for us to interpret. The film has a strong base point and conviction in the presentation. The filmmaker and actor duo has done a splendid job, and you feel it in every scene. Shot in over 12 days, it shows you the level of clarity and determination the team has. To describe the movie in one word it would be "different." Nothing in the movie is even near to something familiar or known.

Each of the characters played by Cate is different to the very core. You also would commend Cate on her acting skills, be the teacher or a tattooed punk; she has live every character. The movie has an affectionate nostalgia of the 19th century, and the only downside is the lengthy monologues, though they make a grave impact as the story progresses by then a lot of scenes are gone, and you just can't keep up with the pace.

Star Performances

Each of the 13 characters has a different history and emotion. Cate Blanchett has managed to keep us tied to our seats the entire time. She shows immense conviction and her creative performance does not go unnoticed. The actress the only focus in the film, there are scenes that help her form the environment for better impact.

What’s there?

• A different concept

• A new format

• Exemplary acting skills

• Discussion-worthy topic

What’s not there?

It's not a familiar format so it might not hold much attention of people more interested in light-hearted movies. Lengthy monologues sometimes make you lose the pace of the story.

Verdict

If you are into seeing different genres of movies, and if you like thinking over a movie are you are done with it. Manifesto is for you. The film mentions famous manifestos like Manifesto of the Communist Party (1848) and many more.
