Plot: John Luther ( James Remar Born in Boston, Massachusetts in the U.S.A on Dece >> Read More... ), a preacher who was formerly a drug addict, turned into a pure man with the help of God and he built a powerful missionary. An act called ‘Faith and fairness act’ (equality of the religion) was passed by the government, which was not supported by John. He stood against the Senate leader Donald Harrison (Bruce Davidson), and eventually got a fake accusation against himself for rape & murder of a teen girl. He is on a run to avoid getting killed by many major forces who are in support of the act. At last John seeks support from his father, who is a Catholic priest (Fred Dalton Thompson). Finally, Luther is forced to take situation on his own and found with a gun and also a rosary in his bloody hands, waiting to seek revenge.

John feels the act to be evil since it does not make Christianity as superior. He also considers it similar to a massive attack by all against Christianity. This movie has got a classic 70’s touch. It depicts a lot about accepting in faith. Among the ‘Don versus common man’ type movies, this film is slightly varied where in this case it is ‘government versus common man.’ This movie gets appreciated only by conservative Christians. The director failed to maintain the essence of suspense. Remar seems to be completely misfitted for the role of a preacher. Many scenes like when police leave the place without investigating Remar, who was sitting inside a car with a hood over his head has got no sense. Most of the shots were just like a loose string with no end.

The protagonist’s friends, as well as his killers, suddenly pop up and appear nowhere in some short time. Screenplay and narration were a bit poor. This film lacked more sort of action and entertainment, which is more expected among the youth audience.

Verdict: A disaster in the name of God.
