, spends their summer in repainting traffic lines on the country highway. They develop friendship in a humorous way. They discuss a lot about love, life, and get to know more about each other.
ANALYSIS: In spite of so much of boring scenes here and there, the director also included some spell, which helped in maintaining a charm throughout the film. Credits go to the beautiful setting and Rudd's performance, which made the movie engaging. The narrative was unfocused. The major twists in the movie occur mostly due to the off-screen events. The narrator looks like talking to himself at a few scenes. If there was not a good chemistry between Hirsch and Rudd, it would have got more complicated. The dialogues look so naive and bizarre.
STAR PERFORMANCES: Paul Rudd did an extraordinary work in immersing himself into such a strange role, and succeed in making the role as his own. He seems to be a serious actor with wit and talent. Though Hirsch's role suits his style of performance, Hirsch was not able to bring his character to life. He failed to bring out the character lively, which disappoints the Audience and stops them from getting engaged in the movie.
WHAT'S THERE? The setting and the atmosphere are beautifully captured, and is a visual treat to our eyes. These scenes linger in our minds for some time. Mesmerizing and stunning photography of the nature is highly expected.
WHAT'S NOT THERE? The script of the movie failed to impress us. Most of the conversations between the lead characters were so artificial, and failed to reach us. Handheld camera is dizzying.
VERDICT: An amalgamation of an eccentric story and an unfocused direction.
