Plot-

In the Los Angeles Police Department, Officer Dave Brown (Harrelson) guards the Rampart Division. Dave is brutal, violent, racist and egoistic. He used to torture the suspects. After his day, he goes home to his two wives who are sisters and has daughters from both. After dinner, he goes to Piano bar where he picks up strangers for one night stands.

One day, a person hits Dave’s car by mistake, so he beats him up very brutally and this gets captured in the video footage. That created trouble for the Los Angeles Police Department, and the assistant district attorney (Weaver) urged Dave to resign simply. He refuses and consults a lawyer called Linda (Wright). He meets with his ex-colleague officer, Hartshorn (Beatty), and discuss’ several things related to the job and their personal life. He even asked him for some cash. For that, his friend tips him off to a high stakes card game happening later that night in the crystal market.

Hartshorn played a game with Dave, and when Dave meets him to give him a cut of the money, he asks for the source of Hartshorn’s tip of the play-off. Hartshorn refuses to reveal. Then he pulls a gun and accuses Hartshorn of setting him up.

In the end, he admits that he had been a bad cop. After confessing every murder, he justifies a few of them and gets rid of the extra-judicial killing.
