The movie hit the screens on February 28th, 2014. Greg Hicks does the role of Pontius Pilate, and Adrian Schiller has done the role of Caiaphas.

Plot: The movie’s plot revolves around the Holy Land. The Romans occupying the Holy Land cause a situation wherein stress and anxiety is prevalent among the Jewish people. Caiaphas, a high priest of the Jews, keeps his people away from Romans to avoid an ugly situation. But, Caiaphas cannot control his people for long. Jesus is there in Jerusalem staging miracles. Jesus stands as an Evangelist in Jerusalem. There are elements that believe that Jesus is a threat. They want Jesus to die so that a revolution is avoided.

There are some fresh recordings of history in the movie. But, otherwise, the movie grinds the same flour as the popular stories of Jesus. The most predominant feature is that the movie has ignored many other things that need to be mentioned. There are of course moments of a visual treat. Like when Jesus walks on the surface of the water. The disciples mistake him for a ghost. The roles of supporting actors add credit to the movie. Particularly, those who play the Lord’s disciples have done it well. The dialogues ‘Leave Him Alone’ uttered by her when the Lord is crucified haunt the audiences. The movie’s producer Roma Downey makes an appearance as the elderly Virgin Mary. Seeing the image of Jesus on the silver screen with lights off would haunt you for quite some time after viewing the movie.
