Plot

The British Royal family arranged a big Christmas bash in an estate in 1991. Princess Diana comes to the estate, and her children are happy that their mom is there. But, the Princess was not happy, as the Royal family had always ignored her. Besides this, her relationship with Prince Charles started deteriorating as he had an extramarital affair with Camilla Parker. Royal Dresser Maggie is the only friend of Diana, as Maggie supports her a lot. On the day of Christmas, Diana felt hard, as she witnessed Camilla being caught on the camera by journalists. Meanwhile, Charles started spreading rumors about Diana's mental health. Diana had even thought about suicide, but some of her thoughts stopped her. What happened next forms the rest of the story.

Star Performance

Kristen Stewart has done complete justice to the given role. She had performed well and followed the late Princess' mannerisms. Stewart tried her level best to provide the British accent.

Analysis

The film didn't bring any negative waves. It had exposed the feeling of a woman who was ignored, made to smile compulsorily, and buried her feelings within her. The screenplay is fantastic, and the casting choice is perfect. The climax is shot brilliantly well, as it could make anyone who doesn't know Diana or even who doesn't like her shed tears. That is the strength of the screenplay and performance. The visuals are neatly captured, and the BGM is good. The production values are good.

What's There?

  • The performance of Kristen is impressive
  • The script and screenplay are amazing

What's Not There?

  • Nothing negative except a very few minor flaws

Verdict

Spencer is not about a Princess, but about women, we meet daily. The film tells that though people have wealth and fame, everything is just beyond mental peace and freedom. Spencer – watch-worthy!
