CAST & CREW
A revenge story of the humans on aliens. This movie was directed by J.J. Abrams. This is the 12th installment in the ' Star Trek' series. This was the last movie for Leonard Nimoy to act, as he passed away later.
PLOT: In order to save the people from the volcanic eruption, Chris Pine, and Zachary Quinto violate the rules, and get demoted. Christopher Pike replaces Chris. During a meeting, Pike gets killed by Benedict Cumberbatch, an alien from Kronos. A team travels to Kronos to hunt him. But the problem is, if the Klingons, the habitants of Kronos, gets to know that Chris Pine has invaded, they may declare it as a war. Will they be able to take revenge on Cumberbatch?
ANALYSIS: The director made a movie package with all the essentials. The movie was filled with jovial dialogues, and action packed sequences. The screenplay brings out the emotional effect shared by the characters. The details of Cumberbatch's motivation are not provided. This movie was created using Industrial Lights & Magic. For the visuals, a fantastic attempt. Especially the opening scene, all the chase sequences, and the crashing of the ship was mind blowing. The background score spices up the movie. The BGM for the villain, sounds of punches, and phasers were genuine.
STAR PERFORMANCES: Pine shines in his role. He rules the movie with his great swagger. Quinto executes his role perfectly. The repartee he makes with the help of Pine did not lose the shine. Cumberbatch possessed all the comprehensive evil aspects. The back story for his character was not necessary.
WHAT'S THERE? The witty dialogues happened to be a perfect seasoning for the movie. They make the movie much better than the original television series.
WHAT'S NOT THERE? In spite of the duration being long, Abrams rushes the movie. Most of the action scenes are cut shorted, and the small scenes are poorly choreographed. Few of the important sequences from the previous movies were used, that will force us to make comparisons.
VERDICT: With a right essence of jovial dialogues and intense actions, the movie reached the target. But was not top notch.
