Sully is a biographical movie which depicts the story of an all-American hero, inspired by the incident of Miracle on Hudson.
The story begins with the departure of the flight 1549 from LaGuardia Airport on the day of 15th January 2009. However, after 3 minutes of airborne it had hit by a flock of Canada geese. It results in failure in both engines of the Airbus A230. And it was the start of their trouble for the crew which also contains Captain Chesley Sully Sullenberger and first officer Jeffery Skiles. With the failed engines and no airports insight they have no choice but to land the aircraft over the treacherous water of Hudson River.
But the decision proved to be an eventful one as it saves the life of all the 155 passengers and the crew members. For his efforts and good decision-making abilities and not losing his patience against all the odds, Sully was dubbed as an American hero. And his life changed aftermath as reporters and investigators surrounded it. So, he has no choice but to put online everything he has including his family, his reputation and his job.
This was a biographical flick that had captured the events of that day which is based on the book highest duty an autobiography of Sully. Tom Hanks had delivered a stellar performance. And the direction of Clint Eastwood had been remarkable. It is a tribute to the hero, and he did deliver it in quite a unique way. The storyline is quite straight and does not contain any drama, and also it depicts beautifully the emotions and fears of the persons who had been present on that plane that day. So, we can safely say that it is one of the best pictures we ever came across.
The exemplary performances had been delivered by many than naming one of them is impossible. However, we can surely say that the performance of Tom Hanks as Sully had been best of all.
• The storyline of the motion picture has an edgy feel to it which will make you question your fears and leaves a high impact.
• All of the characters had been done justice.
What’s not there:
• Some of the scenes are too unrealistic like the position of the various passengers.
