The Fight Before Christmas is a documentary movie directed by Becky Read. Britton Foster is the cinematographer, and the editing is by Nic Zimmerman. The movie is about the North Idaho lawyer Jeremy Morris, and he plays the role. Julia Nottingham and Lisa Gomer-Howes produced the film.

Plot

The plot of Twas The Fight Before Christmas centers on a North Idaho neighborhood utterly ruined by Jeremy Morris’ preoccupation with organizing the largest-ever communal Christmas celebration in American history. The plan of Christmas-obsessed attorney Jeremy Morris is derailed when the homeowners' association warns him that the gathering is against community regulations. The festivities spark a heated argument, and things quickly spiral out of hand. In this zany Christmas story about liberties, directed by Becky Read, the conflicting viewpoints are pieced together. The story's central theme is one of tolerance and difference.

Star Performances

The movie is about the North Idaho lawyer Jeremy Morris, and he plays the role.

Analysis

The movie is the story of the lawyer, Jeremy Morris. He is stubborn and is not ready to take NO for an answer. He is confident that he can’t be ever wrong. It is the ideal narrative for our increasingly divisive times, in which the winner is determined by who yells most rather than by who makes the most robust case or achieves a result that is right according to more people.

What’s There?

  • The movie gives a good message.

What’s Not There?

  • It is not an enjoyable Christmas movie.

Verdict

Despite the constant politicization of everything and the fact that there are no genuine winners in this narrative, director Becky Read pulls together the various versions of it. She asks the audience to consider how they would behave with their neighbors when our different rights come into conflict.
