Boyle recognizes one of the dealers and everything goes awry. McBride is killed, and shocking truths are revealed. Everything that follows henceforth is a hilarious ride.

Analysis:
We have to start with the Irish landscape, they are so captivating and honest, and it gets you packing your bag. Gleeson as Boyle was a smart move by the director. He is the life of the movie as an unconventional policeman. The way that Everett and Boyle come together is a delight, without any chic-flick moments. The dialogues are charged with hilarity, and they leave you guffawing. You sit waiting for the next epic one-liner, which keeps on coming. Kudos to the writer for that. The overall “Irishness” shines through, and it is amazing to see a great actor like Gleeson be corrupt and indulgent.

Star Performances:
The cast of the movie is a real treat to watch. Brendan Gleeson as an Irish cop, who has his agenda is not only interesting, but also hilarious. Cheadle as the great out of place FBI agent deserves the same appreciation as Gleeson. The main antagonist and trivial bad guys were portrayed with remarkable ease. The movie was like a chocolate chip in a vanilla ice-cream.

What’s there?
1.    Funny lines, which will probably stick to our memory for long.
2.    A slight mad-eye flavor from Gleeson.
3.    The compulsive Irish landscape and people.

What’s not there?
1.    We might be laughing at some dumb jokes, but dumb or not we will be laughing.

Verdict:
The Guard Click to look into! >> Read More... has the appeal of an old friend, with a huge sense of humor and a knack for some foolish jokes. Either way, you will want to be around him.
