The Help is a period drama film about white women and their relation with two black maids. The film is directed by Tate Taylor. The storyline of The Help has been adapted from a novel of the same title by Kathryn Stockett.
The film opens in 1963 at Jackson, Mississippi where a young white lady Skeeter ( Emma Stone) comes to her city after completing her graduation from University of Mississippi. She found everything annoying and was not able to adjust herself to the city’s treatment with black. Then she finds a job in local newspaper and columnist, for this, she asks for help to a black maid Aibileen Clark ( Viola Davis). Aibileen gets agree to help her; Aibileen used to work as a Nanni, who look after three white children. Then, Skeeter meets with Minny Jackson ( Octavia Spencer) who is an outspoken black maid. She get fired by a local social activist and then hired by a white blonde. Later, Skeeter gets an idea of writing a book, about her relation with these two black ladies. And she asks for their help with their stories. She completes her book, and it becomes the bestseller. Rest of the film is how it affects the society and authors mother.
As the lead of film Emma Stone tries to deliver her best, butDavis, and Spencer steals the limelight from her. They were simply mind-blowing, they sincerely felt the soul of the character. All the other actors in supporting cast including Cicely Tyson, Allison Janney, Jessica Chestin delivers a great and noticeable performance in their role.
Director Tate Taylor did a marvelous job with the story. Although the film was about Skeeter, the two black ladies made it look like it’s on them. Very well execution of the story; it feels like it is a fresh piece of work. While watching the film, you will feel the emotion and the pain of the characters.

4. Stephen Goldblatt did a nice work with the cinematography of the film.
What’s not there?
1. Music of the film is improper, doesn’t go with the flow of the film.
2. The film looks a little lengthy, which means the editing of the film is not good.
Great film with an amazing storyline.If you like periodic emotional drama, then you will love the film.
