The flick The Human Centipede (First Sequence) is a Dutch movie that hit the silver screens in 2009. The movie’s screenplay, direction, and production are by Tom Six. The movie revolves around an eccentric German Surgeon, who performs dangerous experiments with humans. The German surgeon kidnaps tourists and does surgical procedure ‘mouth to anus’. As a result, he forms a human centipede. The movie draws inspiration from some dangerous experiments done by the Nazis during The Second World War. The movie received negative reviews from critics. But, the movie won several awards at the Film Festivals. The movie was released in select theaters in the United States in 2010.
Dieter Laser has done the Dr. Heiter in the movie. Ashley Williams, Akihiro Kitamura and Ashlynn Yennie have done the victims.
Plot: The movie is about three innocent travelers and their plight as they are caught in a dangerous experiment ‘mouth to anus’ by a shadowy scientist and Surgeon. Thus, they are converted into human centipedes.
The characters in the movie have failed to evoke any interest. The two female tourists have that moronic look in their faces. Akihiro Kitamura, who has done the Japanese tourist, is the sole performer throughout the movie. There is a trace of emotion on his face as he fights the doctor gone crazy. Is the movie trying to bring to light the dark side of the science, or is it trying to be a thriller? The audiences are unable to arrive at a conclusive answer after watching the movie. The movie has the same stuff as some other average Asian movies.
Verdict: Audiences are left with doubt as to whether it is a horror flick or a disgusting porn movie.
