Plot
Steven Murphy is a reputable heart surgeon in the movie. Anna is also a successful eye doctor and the wife of Steven Murphy. They stay in a big, fancy house with their two kids, Bob and Kim, a wide-eyed young girl. A few years ago Steven consumed alcohol before an operation and committed a mistake during the surgery. This mistake results in the death of a patient ( Martin’s father). Steven covers up all the details about how Martin’s dad died. He was also unapologetic about it and blamed the anesthetist.
Steven feels pity for Martin and decides to spend time with him. You will see a strange bond between Steven Murphy and Martin. Both of them go for long walks and exchange gifts on occasion. The initial scenes reflect their beautiful bond of friendship. Martin, who appears to be slow and strange, comes out to be an evil entity. It becomes obvious soon enough that this evil entity is trying to attack the Murphys. Steven had done an operation on the boy’s father several years earlier, who later died. Instead of filing a negligence claim, Martin goes another way. He wants Martin to kill his wife or one of his children.
Martin and his mom both believe Steven will kill his wife to save his kids. Realizing that Steven must kill one of Anna, Bob, or Kim to save the others. Everyone makes an effort to avoid becoming the one to die. It is bizarre. Steven comes up with a solution and ties Anna, Kim, and Bob to three different chairs and blindfolds himself. He whirls around to lose the direction before firing his gun. The first two bullets did not hit anyone but the third bullet straightway hit Bob and the equation is balanced.
Star Performance
Barry Keoghan is one of the best-suited characters in the movie. His expression and his looks were going with his weird and scary character. His performance is exceptionally good. The Killing of a Sacred Deer is his best movie for sure. It is amazing to watch how he makes viewers uncomfortable, especially in the infamous spaghetti scene.
Analysis
I would describe The Killing of a Sacred Deer as a bizarre, perplexing cinematic experience. However, it is a complex mystery movie with unexpected twists and turns. The dialogue delivery in the film is particularly noteworthy. The whole cast is speaking their dialogue in a robotic and monotonic way. This leads to a gap between the protagonist and the audience. It is hard to make out who is morally right in the movie. It is a complicated movie with numerous interpretations. Every word of the movie builds up suspense and the theme. The choice of words adds emotional weight to the relationship between Steven and Martin.
In the end, the movie will leave viewers with many questions. The movie is strange, but it is expected from the director of the film, as many of his movies involve complicated subjects. If you love watching suspense movies, then it is a perfect watch for you.

Verdict
Overall, the movie has a straightforward narrative. Characters explained well what would happen and then made it happen. The movie does not care to explain the mechanics of the antagonist’s act-, but rather investigates why the events occur. The Climax of the movie is not satisfying and exciting. The protagonist accepts his fate and surrenders to the circumstances beyond his control.
