Plot:
An American podcast named Wallace Bryton makes his living by interviewing people. His dream becomes a Canadian nightmare when he visits Manitoba to interview a mysterious seafarer named Howard Howe, who has an incredible past with dark secrets.
Howard Howe gave Wallace a tea mixed with some drug, which made Wallace go unconscious .The next morning Wallace wakes up to see him strapped to a wheelchair with one of his legs amputated. Wallace tries to contact his friends Teddy and Allison, but he just manages to leave a voice message to Ally.
Now, after getting to know that their friend is in danger, they fly to Canada looking for him. In Canada, a local detective puts them in touch with a former inspector who has been searching for Howard Howe for years.
The story proceeds with Howard turning Wallace into a walrus, with the narration of a story about a walrus named Tusk, which saved his life, and the way how Wallace friends Teddy and Allison manage to find the location of Howard.
Analysis:
This movie explores the art of storytelling itself. In spite of the horror, there are some places where the humor jumps in to tickle our ribs
Star performance:
Michael Parks, who played the role of Howard, can be considered the star of the movie. His expressions were so on point that the audience would get carried away. What you may like:
Slight comedy in between horror. They maintained the movie close to reality.
What you may dislike:
There isn't much in the way of sustained horror in the film. The audience who expects a happy ending might get a bit disappointed.
Verdict:
Tusk is an monstrous old-fashioned movie, it won’t be up to mark if you expect a high level of horror.
