A struggle faced by Sage, and his family, to protect their tradition of cannibalism.

PLOT: Bill and his wife are survived by two daughters, Julia, and Amber, and a son, Jack. Bill's wife suffers and dies due to Kuru disease. A woman was held as a hostage by Bill. Later, she gets killed by the protagonist and the kids, and they feed on the meat. The family kills each and everyone who comes to know about their murders. But later, Julia finds that her father is trying to poison and kill them. Will she be able to foil his plan and save her siblings?

ANALYSIS: Director Jim Mickle did an exceptional work in the field of direction. He produces a new amalgamation of beauty and horror. This movie is fresh, and nor gruesome. He pulls us into the story and, let's the creepy feel getting into us through unexpected scenes. This movie is an inspiration of 2010 Mexican thriller 'Somos Lo Que Hay.' He makes the death scene more sentimental that eventually leads to make us feel more sympathetic towards the protagonist's family. It makes us more glued to the script. The chilling ambience throughout the movie gives us a wintry feel.

STAR PERFORMANCES: Parks's performance as a dubious pathologist is wonderful. The protagonist's daughters, played by Julia Garners and Ambyr Childers, are exceptionally beautiful and spooky. Kelly McGillis comes as a sweet and kind neighbor of the protagonist.

WHAT'S THERE? Few good twists and turns can be looked forward towards the last half hour of the movie. The sound design gives chills to our spine. Sounds like the flip of windshield wipers, slicing of meat, etc. were so fresh. Dialogues were with poise.

WHAT'S NOT THERE? The basic concept is the usual one, and nothing can be expected much. When a family loses one, how they rebuild their family again is the storyline. Logic is missing as it gets more insane towards the end.

VERDICT: The love for flesh runs beautifully through the blood.
