The movie has emerged at a very crucial juncture for the Hindi Film Industry. Some political parties have opposed the release of the movie as there are terrorist and violent acts by Pakistan. This is due to the fact that the movie has one or two Pakistani actors in it. The movie is about Indira Gandhi’s assassination causing riots which took the toll on several members of the Sikh community. The reason for attack on the Sikhs was that the assassination was by two Sikhs.

Plot:

The movie 31^st October revolves around a Sikh family that is marooned in a place of riots. The story is such that it happens during the time of Indira Gandhi’s assassination. The plot revolves around Davinder Singh, who holds a respectable position in the society. He resides in New Delhi along with wife and three children. But still, things go against the family when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is shot dead by two Sikhs. There is a huge crowd in the streets searching for Sardaars in the streets and slaying them. The main concern is whether Davinder and his family will escape the violence.

The movie’s editor has made a good attempt at making the movie have a tinge of reel look to it. The movie is intertwined with drama, action, and is also a period movie. The cast and the crew have put in every effort to make it have a good box-office result. It is to be noted that the entire movie was taken in Ghungrana, a village. The negative aspect in the movie is that there is plenty of controversy surrounding it. There is blood and violence strewn throughout the movie, and the clash staged by Hindus and Muslims against the Sikhs. But, the trailer of the movie has won the attention of the audiences.
