CAST & CREW
Being set in 1999, 99 is a story influenced by real life events. Two men in two different cities never made it big. They never made a century in their lives. They both were withheld by a strong feeling of being trapped at 99. The story revolves around money exchange through briefcases, conspiracies, and several little twists and turns, portraying the incidents happening during the India-South Africa series which involved betting.
Overall, the acting was decent. Kunal Khemu’s individuality could be seen in this film. Cyrus should have had a bit more role. He should have had many more lines to say, although he did a great job. The evergreen Soha Ali Khan is not being used to her fullest potential. Vinod Khanna and Boman Irani are in good shape together too.
It's a kind of different experience for the viewers. Timely comedy combined with humor makes this a notable one. Moreover, the characters are very lively.
The movie mainly succumbed to positive reviews. Although, it was felt that there was a drag at certain places. It also became predictable at times due to the monotonous screenplay.
This kind of a movie is not very rare but is reasonably less available. The timing of the comedy and the lively characters makes us laugh each and every time. So, if you want to enjoy the weekend with a comedy flick, this is the movie for you.
