CAST & CREW
Aashiqui.in is a Bollywood romantic film directed by ‘Shankhadeep’. Almost everyone associated with this film is a first-timer, including the director and the leads.
The film opens with the introduction of Cyrus played by Ishaan Manhaas, who is a swimming champion in his college, and he is facing difficulty in setting his future goal. He wants to become a writer, but his father wants him to be a national swim champion, therefore, he used to hide his goal from his father. He was popular in college, but had no one who could properly understand him. Somewhere else in the city, a girl named April ( Ankita Shrivastava), had suffered a lot in her childhood. Her mother died when she was a child and her father got married to another lady, who already had two daughters. Few days later, her father also died. Now, April’s step-family used to treat her like a servant. After all this, she starts to go college and starts using a social site where both Cyrus and April meet, and become friends.
The director did a nice job as a first timer. The film is full of emotion, and although he picked a nice plot, the execution on the screen was not proper. There aren’t many interesting factors, and the audience can easily predict the film; it’s the demerit of the film.
Ishaan Manhaas did a satisfactory job as the lead of the film. In emotional scenes, he looked good. Ankita Shrivastava looked pretty and cute in her character; she did an average performance. Dheeraj Miglani, as Ankita’s best friend, did a nice performance, while the other supporting cast delivered an average performance.
1. The plot of the film is fresh.
2. The film has a very nicely done cinematography by Bharat Parthasarthy.
WHAT’S NOT THERE?
1. The screenplay of the film has many flaws.
2. Music of the film does not go with the mood of the film.
3. The film does not have anything new; everything is predictable.
Aashiqui.in is a good romantic film; it can be enjoyed once with friends.
