A not-to-be called Sci-Fi film, this movie is about a young man, Bunty, who lands up in his parents past and tries hard to make his parents fall for each other to resolve the problems in the present.

Plot:

A well to do business man, Kishen ( Akshay Kumar Akshay Kumar was born on 9th September 1967 and hi >> Read More... ), is into a so-called customary conflict with his wife, Mala ( Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a popular Indian actress >> Read More... ), which ends up in a decision to get divorced. Fed up with all this, Bunty ( Aditya Roy Kapur Aditya Roy Kapur, a young and successful actor wa >> Read More... ), tries to find peace with his girlfriend in solitude, who is called Tanya ( Sudeepa Singh Sudeepa Singh is an Indian model and actress, who >> Read More... ). He then gets to know her grandfather, Anthony Gonsalves ( Randhir Kapoor Randhir Kapoor was born on the 15th of February 19 >> Read More... ), who is a scientist and invents a time machine. Bunty plans to resolve his parents fight by inflicting love at an earlier age. Bunty reaches the past i.e. 1970’s, were Mumbai was Bombay. Love was taboo and people followed polka dots fashion! He meets his now cool dad (Kishen) who turns out to be an under confident, buck teethed, kitchen person, who owns a Bhojanalay. Mala, the girl next door, is a kind off tomboyish rebel along with Kundan and his mates. Mala and Kishen are arch rivals, just like their parents. Bunty, with the help of Mala’s friend Mona ( Neha Dhupia Neha Dhupia is a Bollywood actress who began her c >> Read More... ), make Mala realize her love for Kishen, while turning Kishen into a cool, fashionable stud. Kundan is taking part in a singing competition with Kishen to win over Mala. Meanwhile, Mona falls in love with Bunty. So what happens? Is bunty successful? Does he go back to Tanya?

Analysis:

The actors no doubt delivered well. While a lot of the parts are dull and weak, the music is third rated. The cinematography is not so realistic for the 70’s. The explicit direction fails to impress. Akshay Kumar is as pleasing as he would be in any other movie, and does complete justice. Kirron Kher Kirron Kher or Kirron Anupam Kher was Kiran Thakar >> Read More... and Om Puri Om Rajesh Puri is one of the widely noted senior a >> Read More... fill the scenes very aptly with neat comic jolts. Aditya Roy Kapur is promising as a debutant and is no less than a hero of the movie. Sudeepa Singh does not have much to enact. Rest of the retroness of the film does not justify itself.

What’s There?

1. The performances! [Definitely].

What’s not There?

1. So much of it is not there! Lack of good direction, good screenplay, good cinematography and much more.

Verdict:

I cannot say it’s a complete no-no, but definitely a one-time watch for movie buffs and typical fans. If you can manage to lose logic and scalar perception, you may enjoy the movie for the overtly comic masala it throws.
