Agneepath is an action revenge flick that has our main protagonist Vijay Dinanath Chouhan ( Hrithik Roshan) who is hell-bent on avenging his father’s death that happened when he was a small kid. With rage burning inside him and an extreme thirst for vengeance, would he be able to avenge his father and restore his life to normal?
Vijay(Hrithik Roshan) is a devastated man who has lost a big part of his life in the form of his father. Having had the horror of watching his father being brutally murdered at the hands of Kancha Cheena(Sanjay Dutt), Nothing can comfort him but revenge and complete destruction of Kancha.
In his quest for vengeance, he leaves his family behind and starts working as a henchman for a big gangster Rauf Lala(Rishi Kapoor) and gains his trust and sees him as a pathway to Kancha. But that’s not all, Vijay helps Police Inspector Gaitonde(Om Puri) to foil Kancha’s plan of taking over Mumbai.
Vijay then starts to crumble Rauf Lala’s family by killing his son and then murdering him also, this way he earns Kancha’s trust who invites him to Mandwa. Eager to reach Mandwa and a feeling of revenge covering Vijay, he arrives in Mandwa and later fights the fight he was waiting for a long time, but is he successful in avenging his father? Watch the movie to find out.
Agneepath is a remake of the same name and same concept revolving around revenge and the consequences that come with it. Hrithik Roshan is the pick for Vijay, which I find very satisfying. He effortlessly gets inside the role and plays it seamlessly. Priyanka Chopra has provided a justifiable support to Hrithik comforting him on his quest for revenge. The cinematography is fantastic topped over with some fine editing, and you won’t feel a bit of a distraction.
Kancha takes the trophy here as he mesmerizes you with his absolute evil character who just wants to unleash hell upon anyone who comes in his way. Hrithik, of course, has improved a lot regarding acting and justified the role of Vijay, Priyanka gives a very realistic performance of a chawl girl and portrays it perfectly.
1. Fine acts from Hrithik, Priyanka and supporting actors whose experience is repeatedly used.
2. Action scenes are worth watching with the best of cinematography and multi-camera angles.
3. A satisfying conclusion that came after various twists carved in the movie.
WHAT’S NOT THERE?
1. Since it is a revamped version of the older movie, very few originals can be traced in it.
2. Emotional time stretches a bit too much. 3. An incomplete end.
“Agneepath” has to be watched not just for the sake of old memories, but also for the mesmerizing acts of lead stars and the evilness stitched in it. A must watch.
