CAST & CREW
After the success of ‘Dirty Picture’ and ‘ Kahaani’, Vidya Balan hit theaters with a comedy drama film called, ‘ Bobby Jasoos’. Samar Shaikh directed the film, and Dia Mirza with Reliance Entertainment produced it.
The film revolves around Bilqis Ahmed, aka Bobby, played by Vidya Balan, who wants to be a private detective, but being from a middle-class family doesn’t help her, as her father always scolds her for the work. Initially, she worked in the case of Tasuwar, portrayed by Ali Fazal, for his T.V. hosting shows. Later, she meets with an NRI named Kiran Kumar as Aneesh Khan. He gives her a case to find out two girls with a birthmark on their hand and shoulder. She solves this with her skills. Afterwards, he again gives her a case where she will have to find a boy, who has a missing toe named Ali. Bobby finds it quite suspicious and she follows this case against her client Aneesh Khan. The remaining story has the answer of few questions like what problems she faces, what happened to both of the girls, and does her father accept her profession or not?
It is very sad to see Vidya Balan in such kiddish films. The director of the film, Samar Shaikh, completely fails to convey his stories and ideas. Film looks very childish; all the moves made by him are old. The film has very poor screenplay, editing, and direction. Some of the logic behind the film are beyond our senses. The audience loses his interest in the first half of the film; it seems like the director too lost his interest during the film.
Vidya Balan did a good job again, and she looked ravishing in the film, but her character needs to be written properly. Ali Zafar, as the male lead in the film, did an average performance, as his chemistry with Vidya Balan does not look good. He looks much younger than Vidya in the film. The other supporting actor like Kiran Kumar, Arjan Bajwa, and Supriya Pathak did an alright performance.
1. Powerful performances by Vidya Balan and Ali Zafar.
2. The cinematography of the film looks great; it gives a proper feel of Hyderabad.
WHAT’S NOT THERE?
1. The film has poorly written a script, as well as the screenplay.
2. Music of the film does not go with the film, as there is no need of romantic tracks in such films.
3. Almost every character in the film is undeveloped.
4. The film has the very long runtime.
If you are one of those people who can watch a film only for stars like Vidya Balan, then you can go for this film. Otherwise, it’s not recommended to watch.
