CAST & CREW
Mussaddi Lal Tripathi is a retired schoolmaster. Like any other common man, he is troubled with health problems related to his wife. To get her treated, he goes to the hospital but as are the hospitals in Mumbai, the negligence of the doctors and other staff members led to her demise. Then he goes on a religious trip to immerse his wife’s ashes, with his son. During this time, the pension officers come to inquire and from the neighbor's response, they figure out that he is dead. Once he comes back, Mussaddi gains knowledge of the truth and then begins his journey to fight with the officers to prove that he is alive. The officers, on the other hand are persistent not to let him succeed for they had taken away the money. Will Mussaddi Lal succeed? What will happen to the officers? Who will help him? To answer these questions, watch the movie.
Chala Mussaddi Office Office is based on a popular TV series “office office” from the same director that show the exactly same actors. That is what makes it kind of monotonous for the audiences who have already watched the series. Although the TV series was a hit, the movie fails to live up to the expectations. The actors, setting and story line is more or less the same. It shows absolutely nothing original or a different outlook to the plot. But the movie very well conveys the plight of a person who wishes for government assistance and how these offices and officers work.
Star performances: Pankaj Kapur is one of the finest screen actors in the world and to watch him give a performance like this is upsetting. He tries his best to do justice to the character but fails.
The first half of the movie develops a plot that begins to interest the audience. Some punches succeed. Only some.
What’s not there?
The movie tries hard to reach the levels of expectation but fails miserably. Not funny. The script could have been a lot better. The pace of the movie is also slow.
Watch this movie only if you have nothing else to do and want to kill time.
