Plot

Alia Bhatt is in her 20s and is a growing director. She has her own share of problems in life; her dream job is something that she is yet to get; her romance life is something that should be given more thought. There are also some other problems that can be connected to by the audience. And Alia Bhatt, manages to get the help of the therapist Shah Rukh Khan. How does Alia’s life proceed thereafter? Star Performances

We can easily relate with the character of Alia Bhatt, which is very realistic, and the cute actress has come up with a good performance. Shah Rukh has done his job extremely well and even not bothered to allow Alia to steal the show sometimes. That shows the importance that he gives to his character. Ali Zafar, Kunal Kapoor, Ira Dubey, Angad Bedi, and Yashaswini Dayama leave a lasting impression in their supporting roles.

Analysis

The movie is well-executed by director Gauri Shinde, who has directed the Sridevi starrer English Vinglish. The director has attempted to explain the happenings in this busy city life in a connectable manner. Most of the scenes involve conversations and you would get a slice of life from the film rather than the main story being established in the beginning itself.

What’s not there?

  • The first half could have been more interesting.
  • There are many dialogues in the film that one wonders about the plot sometimes.
