Gang of Ghosts is based on a Bengali super hit film of 2012 “Bhooter Bhabishyat.” It was claimed to be ‘India’s first ghost comedy movie.’ The movie has popular stars, good concept but a total fail in comedy.

Plot

The plot revolves around the life or should I say the souls of a Gang of Ghosts. The story starts with a director planning to shoot a television commercial in an apparently haunted bungalow. Then a builder comes in who wants to bring down the bungalow to build a shopping mall. Watch the movie to find out what happens next. Does the builder build the shopping mall? Satish Kaushik An active actor, filmmaker & producer as well. He >> Read More... failed to recreate the qualities that made the original film work. Gang of Ghosts is an example of a bad remake. The film could have been entertaining with such famous stars like Anupam Kher, Parambrata Chatterjee, Sharman Joshi to name a few and a great story line only if the director would have paid more attention towards the humor section than the songs. The original film was a type of film which can repeatedly be viewed.

What’s there?

The story is a bit different from all the other stories; It has a unique storyline.
The visuals are stunning considering all the locations and set up.
The movie talks about the problems in our society, like the problem of urbanization, evil of real estate and politicians who cares only for their votes.

What’s not there?

Nothing overall was funny about the film except the use of vulgar dialogues in an attempt to make the movie belong to the comedy genre.
The item number was a setback.
One-liners and punches were very outdated.

Verdict

Gang of Ghosts is not funny and has many loopholes, But the concept of the movie and the message the movie tries to convey is really good. If you want a good laugh, rather than watching ‘Gang of Ghosts’ go with the original ‘BhooterBhabishyat’.
