A film portraying the madness and zest of Cricket is more than enough to transform the youth from being couch potatoes to ardent movie watchers. Hattrick displays the maze of Cricket mania for all those enthuses cutlets for this game.

Plot: Uncouth yet distinguished, Nana Patekar Nana Patekar is a popular Indian actor who was bor >> Read More... is a head doctor at a civil hospital in Delhi. He exhibits his nature as a workaholic and has his principles fixed. His monotony comes to stop when Danny Denzongpa For Danny Denzongpa the voyage to the glittering w >> Read More... , a veteran cricketer enters his life. Miles away in London lives PareshRawal who is a janitor but in order to maintain his self-esteem, he showcases himself as a customs officer. His weird fascination for cricket motivates him to move back to his own country with the pride of having the UK citizenship. Among this all, he faces the hurdles of the generation gap with his UK prone teenage daughter. Over time, the couple discovers their different interests and things aren’t that well. Kunal being a die-hard cricket fan has all the time for that game and neglects his better half who too feels unloved. Watch this multi-dimensional film to let the three sub-stories unfold in their own exuberant manner.

Analysis: Milan Luthria Milan Luthria is a film producer and director who >> Read More... has executed a number of parts in the film with panache, but the film isn’t as revitalizing as one expected it to be. This film goes up and down, having an erratic graph. However, as they say, the old can never fade. Nana Patekar and Danny Denzongpa have delivered a kind of performance above the script and have bought out very fine acting skills.

Star Performance: There are a few actors who inevitably act so brilliantly that even a weak script cannot deter them. Nana’s talent might have been unexplored, but his piece of acting never fails to amaze us. Again the role of an NRI Gujju guy is something synonymous to Paresh Rawal, yet he has put in all his efforts for this role. Kunal Kapoor comes out to be a very confident and charming actor on screen with a polychrome persona. Rimi Sen is at her stunning best and delivers her performance with full conviction.

What is there?

1. A spirited performance by the leading duo; Nana Patekar and Danny Denzongpa.

2. Well pictured songs.

3. A different watch for the cricket lovers; something that does not have the cliché cricket story.

What is not there?

1. Not so catchy songs that one might keep humming them.

2. A proper scripted and desired an end to the film.

3. A better transition from one part to the other.

Verdict: The film took off well, faced turbulence and did not have a smooth landing. Being a mediocre film, it would lie between the range of 50-60 runs on a century.
