Star Performances

Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhotra have a great onscreen charisma, and they are extremely handsome. Siddharth is particularly good in the family scenes. Fawad Khan fits his role to the T and his rapport with Siddharth is appealing. Alia Bhatt is always a personification of cuteness and in this film too she looks cute. She has given a convincing performance. Rishi Kapoor plays the role of a grandfather with utmost conviction, and his body language deserves special mention. Ratna Pathak is appealing, and she has given a spontaneous performance. Rajat Kapoor to does his job well.

Analysis

We have got used to seeing Bollywood movies wherein the filmmakers cash in on the male protagonist’s onscreen heroics. But for a change Kapoor & Sons is a realistic tale of the Kapoor clan. In the regard, producer Karan Johar should be appreciated for producing such an excellent film. What’s there?

The script is exemplary.
The screenplay will strike the right chord with the youth of cities.
The movie doesn’t rely on melodrama; instead, it showcases human sentiments and sibling rivalry in a balanced manner.
Every character has their own tales to say, and that is executed well in the movie.
The first half progresses in an interesting manner. The second half, with its great moments, also is no less compared to the first half.
Editing of Shivkumar V Panicker is definitely one of the highlights of the movie.
