CAST & CREW
he basic theme of the movie is based on how strangely a strong childhood friendship transforms into a staunch rivalry between the two main characters of the film, Arjun depicted by Ajay Devgn and Mannu depicted by Salman Khan. Arjun, a budding and aspiring musician fleas when he with his uncle move to London after his father’s death which was quite desired for by him. He there befriends Zoheb and Wasim ( Rannvijay Singh and Aditya Roy Kapoor respectively), who happen to be brothers who duped their relatives of Pakistan and fled to London pursuing their aspirations that were quite similar to Arjun’s.
This is the time when Priya (played by Asin), a music enthusiast hailing from an utterly conservative family of South India comes into the picture. Mannu’s hobby and pass-time in India are seducing married women and soon after finds himself in debts with the locals. However, he clears all his debts and moves to London to join Arjun’s band but unexpectedly becomes more popular and loved by the crowd.
Meanwhile, he starts flirting with Priya. With the burning envy and jealousy Arjun tricks Mannu into drug addiction and deceives him at every point. Mannu, being unaware of this conspiracy makes repeated efforts to help his friend in need whenever necessary. Does the truth about Arjun unfold? If yes, how? What happens to Mannu and Priya? To know how the climax unravels do watch the movie.
Salman Khan proves to be an able actor yet again by portraying a simple, cheeky yet humorous boy who blends both these qualities in a very smooth way. Also, as the story moves forward, he efficiently emotes comedy, tragedy, and trauma he goes through as a drug addict.
Ajay Devgn plays Arjun, the menace very convincingly who can go to any stretch to build and save his reputation tagged along with the glory he aspires. Ajay Devgn looks pretty appealing as his character is concerned in his rough performer getup, but lacks the youthfulness and body flexibility of a rock artist.
What is there?
The concept, theme, and purpose of the movie is quite interesting and succeeds in impressing the audience. The first half of the film is very entertaining and keeps the viewers interested; the climax is also very gripping. Its theme also appeals to wannabe artists from the younger generation
What is not there?
The songs of a themed musical movie were not quite delivered up to the mark as the songs seemed to feeble. In fact the most important song of the movie, which the band plays at their night in the Wembley Stadium, is completely uninspiring and boring. The film is average because of the bland comedy, typical and predictable love triangles, extremely typical and badly handled situations, and a stretched climax.
Though there are so many mistakes in the film, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn steal the show with their performance!
