Plot: Ketan Mehta He was born in 1952 and is a director by professio >> Read More... does it again in Manjhi - The Mountain Man, which looks a real biopic. Ketan is a popular film director, who has always found it fascinating to explore real biopics- be it on interesting topics of Vallabhai Patel, Mangal Pandey or a painter Raja Ravi Varma.

The screenplay and narration is so well balanced that, it could be become a hit with wide audiences. Everybody knows that this story is adapted version of Dashrath Manjhi, who was a poor labour and a mountaineer in Gaya, who had just hammer and chisel to climb the hills. The film revolves around primarily between two characters played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui Nawazuddin Siddiqui was born in Budhana in Muzaffa >> Read More... , who has enacted the role of Dashirath and Radhika Apte Radhika Apte, an Indian actress was born on Sept 7 >> Read More... , who plays his wife. It shows the life of Dashirath as a real struggler in the village and how his wife dies as soon as she falls down off the mountain, as she could not be taken to hospital in right time.

The film is produced by NFDC and Vacom 19 Motion Pictures. This film, has sketched the struggling life of the mountaineer. Body language and dialogue delivery of the actor is superb and he has given a brilliant performance as a mountaineer. Like all Keta Mehta’s film, there are sexual assault, exploitation and social exploitation, but the screenplay could have been more better to show the romance between Nawazuddin and Radhika. Ketan draws some inspiration from Bollywood flicks and does a water-fall song sequence with leading actors, which could have been avoided. The cinematography part in the movie is brilliant, which is taken on the village, where Dashrath lived his life. The film is shot predominantly in the same village Gaya. The story telling part of the film is okay. It is re-told in multiple flashbacks. It captures the amazing love story of two characters of husband and wife, which makes okay for compelling viewing.

For Ketan Mehta, it has been always a struggle to adapt a biopic for two or three hour viewing. But he has done the job perfectly well. Siddiqui has done every single moment in the entire film well and he deserves an award for it. The dialogue delivery is superb and it needs a mention in every frame, that he had captured the scenes. Where he could not deliver dialogues, he has done it with eye expressions effectively. Just watch this film for a beautiful village atmosphere and a soulful performance of Siddiqui. Hats off to Ketan Mehta for bringing out best performance from Siddiqui.
