A dynamic story of a young girl suffering from cerebral palsy whose story touches the most delicate parts of today’s modern society.
Plot: Kalki Koechlin suffers from cerebral palsy. She studies at Delhi University and is passionate about writing. She suffers major heartbreaks there but recovers. Moreover, she gets a scholarship to study at Manhattan and moves there with her mother, Revathy. She encounters Sayani Gupta, a young activist to whom she is infatuated. This unfolds the truth of her being bisexual. Later on, her mother also dies due to cancer. Such odd events shape up Kalki’s life or she lets go of them? Watch to know more about it.
Analysis: A very simple scripted movie, Margarita with a straw definitely leaves you in tears after you watch it. The acting skills exhibited by Kalki are tremendous. She has set higher parameters for such films ahead. The script has a few flaws which underrates the other actors.
Star Performance: Kalki Koechlin has been showed above average than what was expected from a girl suffering from such an illness. Her skills towards acting have made her outstand. Revathy’s role is downtrodden due to the script. b
What is there?
1. Not the usual kind of a story. The theme is absolutely something which is a taboo.
2. Widely imaginative with the subplots too being well directed.
3. Top class performance by the main lead.
What is not there?
1. Concentration on the main role of the protagonist only.
2. Not so effective script.
Verdict: A movie worth a watch. The actors can’t get any better and have given in their best. A simple film made to be believed.
