By having Anupam Kher Anupam Kher is a very popular actor, director, and >> Read More... as the protagonist and that too in a comedy film, becomes a treat for the veteran’s fans. But Mr. Bhatti on Chutti contradicts this; as far from being a comic one, this movie does not tickle your humor bones.

Plot

Kher plays Mr. Brij Mohan Bhatti, a bank clerk, a lonely chap who wishes to spread world peace. An admirer of Amitabh Bachchan Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in A >> Read More... , Bhatti makes all efforts to have a glimpse of the star by spending time out Big B’s bungalow.

To his bafflement, Bhatti wins a trip to London, where he meets his lookalike Abu Siddiqui (Kher again), and changes position with the terrorist as planned by the London Police so that he can leak out information about Abu’s gang. In the hocus pocus of all these events, Kher gets to speak to Mr. Bachchan, who influences him to such an extent that the nerdy Bhatti survives death and succeeds in saving humanity.

Star Performances

Anupam Kher’s character from ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’ is still celebrated. But Kher as Bhatti makes him look amateurish. Kher’s character is somewhere between Mr. Bean from ‘Bean’s Holiday’ and Inspector Jacques Clouseau of ‘Pink Panther’. If Kher failed to do justice to his role, what can be said about the other actors in the film?!

Pawan Shankar Pawan Shankar is a well-known face of Indian Telev >> Read More... has tried acting, but he also overdoes with his flirting. Other than them actors like Bhairavi Goswami Bhairavi Goswami, a model turned actor born in Ind >> Read More... do no good. All in the entire movie is baseless with bad direction and poor production. The supporting actors add nothing more to the movie, making it unbearable.

Analysis

The movie seems an amalgamation of different movies like Mr. Bean’s Holiday and Don. The USP of the film- Humor- is lost despite the actor Anupam Kher being a part of it. Director Karan Razdan dares to direct such a film even after his bad filmmaking efforts in Hawas and Girlfriend. Though he had a social message and he did convey it, the movie loses its plot in the process. What’s there?

Honestly, the movie is a waste of time and money. Even Anupam Kher doesn’t make you want to stop and watch it. Still, the only person to be watched for is Amitabh Bachchan and yes his bungalow. That’s all!

What’s not there?

A comedy film comprises a funny script and good dialogues; sadly this movie lacks both.

Verdict

Don’t waste your Chutti on Mr. Bhatti. Period!
