'Sudeep and Amrita Khanika cast in a horror plot based on black magic. The victim of black magic, Raksha (Ahaas Channa), Sudeep's beloved daughter, gets involved in paranormal activities as an outcome of anger and revenge.
Plot:
Sudeep is a Civil Engineer living in Mumbai with his wife and two kids. Anshuman and Madhu, two trusted colleagues, cheat on Sudeep for an IT firm. Sudeep finds out the truth and throws them out of the company.Out of anger and having a gust of revenge running through their veins, the duo target Sudeep's beloved daughter, Raksha. The world near him seems to fall apart, workers die mysteriously, his daughter talks in manly voices and what not. Casting spells of black magic on Raksha, paranormal activities start taking place. How Sudeep resolves his hard time and frees his daughter from the trap of evil duo concludes the story.

’ does seem like a horror plot, but after looking into the plot, it makes it worthless. Drama and thrill is there though. For a horror movie, Phoonk fades away for its place in the category. In spite of the horror genre, many movie buffs felt like placing it in the comedy genre instead of horror. Nothing was new for the horror plot seekers.
