Plot: the movie focuses on Ronit Roy Ronit Roy (Ronit Bose Roy) was born on 11th Octobe >> Read More... The backdrop of Kolkata, also known as the football capital of India gives perfect assistance to the concept of football in the movie. The father and son duo share a bond which like every father and sons is a little strained, but the game of football is what helps them to bridge their emotional gaps. The movie beautifully interweaves the fun and energy of football with the intricacies of emotion and relationships. How this father-son duo bond over football, and deals with and nurtures their emotional selves is what is in store for the audience.

Analysis: “Saat Kadam” is a simple movie but at the same time it is quite emotionally gripping, the element of sports added in the movie is quite a likable concept. The father and son, bonding over football, gives goals to the society to strengthen their ties with their children. The way in which the movie deals with the issue of increasing relation gaps between parents and their children is commendable.

A good debut directorial by Mohit Kumar Jha, where he aptly shows the emotional struggles of modern day relationships. Star performances: Ronit Roy fits perfectly in the role of a modern age father trying to sort out issues with his new generation son. He delivers a brilliant piece of work in the movie. Amit Sadh too delivers a good performance as the son who faces problems of having a generation gap with his father.

What’s there: the stills in the movie and the concept of Kolkata as the backdrop is creditable. The story is simple but put in the form of a movie it is good. The direction is worthy of praise, and the audience will surely appreciate Mohit Jha’s work.

What’s not there: the movie lacks a big star cast. The audience might not be attracted towards it because of the cast.

Verdict: “Saat Kadam” is an emotionally moving movie. The element of sports in the movie is sure to appeal to a younger audience. The plot is weak, and lacks a huge star cast, and therefore some might give it a miss, but if the audience goes for it, the movie will not disappoint.
