Shivaay, the much hyped Diwali release, has released today. Now let’s see how Shivaay has turned out to be .
Ajay Devgan bounces upon a Bulgarian tourist Erikaa Kaar while trekking past a dangerous area in Uttarakhand. The hero saves the heroine’s life from a treacherous avalanche. They enjoy each other’s presence and are blessed with a girl child. However, they part ways. The movie revolves around the bond between Ajay and his daughter Abigail Eames (who is speech impaired) and how far the former can go (he even moves away from his beloved mountains) to safeguard the latter from dangerous situations and people.
The one thing that is glaring in Shivaay is that Ajay Devgan is almost in every shot of the flick. Being an intense actor, Ajay, who he has directed and produced the movie, is relatively good in the second half of the film. Debutant Erikar Kaar and Sayyeshaa are ok in their roles. Abigail Eames, an American child artist, is expressive to the core.
In the film Shivaay, the lead character, indulges in risky stunts and show as though the sky is the limit for his bravery. Nothing can be a hurdle to him and this is something very alluring right? And besides this, the hero is also a responsible and loving father. This is enough fodder for a good film right? However, the movie works only in bits and pieces.
What’s not there?
The movie would have been more enjoyable if it had a short run time. Moreover, the storyline is very weak. But one should surely appreciate the dedication and visual excellence of the movie. And it is a great treat for action lovers.
