Plot:
Son of Sardaar is a romantic comedy which takes you straight into the heartland of colourful Punjab and larger- than- life Punjabis. They take pride about their hospitality & warmth but are mighty serious about matters regarding honour & dignity. It is the story of (Ajay Devgn) a peace-loving, happy-go-lucky Sardar from London who falls in love with Meet (Sonakshi Sinha) on his trip to India to sell off his ancestral land. Twist of fate and series of incidents take him to her house where he faces the most unexpected. He comes within an arm's distance of his worst enemy ever- the heavy weight Billu Paji (Sanjay Dutt) who is the head of Meet's family and is out to kill Jassi owing to a family feud which started three generations ago!But to Jassi's luck, Billu Paji and his family strictly adhere to Atithi Devo Bhavah! A guest at home is to be treated like God even if he is their worst enemy, outside the premise of the house- only God can help them!
Analysis:
Judged even by the yardstick of a 'leave-your-brains-behind' entertainer, Son of Sardaar falls considerably short, particularly because it wants to be too many things all at once. Dhir mines the premise for its comic potential, offering us some moments of inspired lunacy. But this is equally an action film, and the cartoonish set pieces fail to impress because they rely too heavily on tacky special effects. Even if you're a fan of those loud 80s-style entertainers, this one demands a lot out of you.
Star Performance:
Ajay Devgan (Jassi) and Sanjay Dutt (Billu Paji), have played the lead role in the film. In this movie , he tries his best to carry off a lovable Punjabi and does a decent job, he carries off the dumb comic act well and succeeds to an extent. Sanjay Dutt seems to have a blast playing a role that suits him to the T. Sonakshi Sinha has played the heroine role as usual. Juhi Chawla is a delight, the actress who gave several great comic acts earlier in Bollywood, took a break and started doing meaningful cinema but now comes back and she gives a freewheeling performance and steals the show. Salman Khan Salman Khan is a very famous Indian actor and a pr >> Read More... has played a cameo role, appears in the end credits and sure his fans will love him again as they do nowadays. The film ends with the song Po Po which features Salman Khan to conquer the audiences . Then supporting characters are Arjan Bajwa, Vindu Dara Singh and Mukul Dev have done their part as assigned to them.
