A movie that offers a lot of action, masala, romance and comedy, Tashan was one of the most awaited films of the year 2008.

Plot

A call centre executive, Jimmy ( Saif Ali Khan Saif Ali Khan is a film celebrity born to actress  >> Read More... ) falls in love with a girl named Pooja ( Kareena Kapoor Khan Kareena Kapoor is a super hit actress working in I >> Read More... ), who works for a gangster named Bhaiyyaji ( Anil Kapoor Anil Kapoor was born on 24th December 1956 in Mumb >> Read More... ). Together, they steal Bhaiyyaji’s money and run away.

Bhaiyyaji hires another gangster, Bachchan Pandey ( Akshay Kumar Akshay Kumar was born on 9th September 1967 and hi >> Read More... ) to track them down. Meanwhile, Pooja runs away with the money leaving Jimmy behind feeling betrayed. Watch the movie to find out how this whole story unfolds.

Analysis

It is a lacklustre and confusing movie with a lot of interlinked plotlines. The film-makers have tried to put in everything they can into one movie, and the result has been very disappointing.

It is a khichdi with way too many unnecessary ingredients leaving it unable to be eaten. For a movie that was so awaited, it sure failed to get the approval of the masses.

What’s there?

1. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s size zero figure making its first appearance on screen and starting a new trend.

2. Akshay Kumar and Kareena giving good performances.

3. Some very nice visual treats and some nice songs for listening to, on a long drive.

What’s not there?

1. Too many plotlines leading to too much confusion. Also, very illogical twists and turns.

2. The first half of the movie is not so bad, but the second half gets worse.

3. Saif Ali Khan, with his ‘barely there’ role, could have done a better job by taking up another movie.

4. A very weak script.

Verdict

You can watch this movie if you’re ready to keep your brain aside throughout the length of the movie and just enjoy the visuals and songs. From my side, it would be a big NO.
