Teri Diwali Meri Christmas is a small-budget, fantasy drama directed by Anurag Jha Anurag Jha is a famous Indian actor, director, pro >> Read More... . Along with Hemavaishnave and Khusboo Moharkar, the director is also part of the cast. The main cast is supported by Harshita Alwale and Shreeram Dongre.

Plot:

A young girl played by Hemavaishnave suffers from seasonal amnesia. Every year, from October to December, she forgets all the incidents that have happened in her and others lives. It is called the Diwali to Christmas syndrome.

She struggles with memory loss and even takes expert support to figure out the reason. She feels like a huge part of her life is missing, and she cannot deal with it. Her friends even request her not to make a big deal of it.

One year, just before her seasonal amnesia sets in, she takes off to a remote location. Just before Christmas, on Christmas eve, she meets the male lead (played by Anurag Jha). He claims to be God.

As they get to know each other, the bond between them becomes stronger, but he will not help her. She believes that if he is God, then he can enable her to come out of the seasonal memory loss. But he refuses to do so.

One day, he chooses to leave her and return to heaven. And she is not able to accept it.

Does he leave?

Since they met in December, will she remember or forget him? Is he really God? If not, who is he?

Why does she suffer seasonal amnesia? And, why only during the festive season?

All of these questions are answered in the movie.

Star Performance:

All of the actors are relatively unknown names. The director Anurag Jha acts as the male lead. The female lead is a newbie, and so are the other cast members. The cinematography and dialogues are average

Analysis:

The genre of fantasy drama is not new. We have had big multi-budget movies based on the theme.

This movie is tad different as it deals with a new illness called seasonal amnesia faced by the female lead. And, it happens only during the festive season which is from October-December.

The concept is bizarre but it still hooks you as you wish to figure out if the female lead gets okay. In addition, is the male lead really God or a figment of her imagination.

What’s There:

  • A different script
  • New concept called seasonal amnesia.

What’s Not There:

  • Average performances
  • Poor cinematography

Verdict:

The highlight is the seasonal amnesia and its impact on the female lead and her relationships. It is a one-time watch.
