Plot

Keshav lives in a village in Uttar Pradesh, where there is no toilet facility. He marries Jaya, who lives in a village nearby Keshav’s village. Keshav had never thought to tell his wife that his house has no toilet. He doesn’t know that this would become a big issue and his wife would file a divorce for not having a toilet in his house. After her marriage, when Jaya comes to her husband's house, she is shocked to see that there is no toilet. She leaves the house and files a divorce case. Did Keshav build a toilet for his wife? Did she withdraw her divorce petition? Watch the satirical entertainer in theaters.

Star Performance

Akshay Kumar had shouldered the film and had performed extremely well. Bhumi had excelled in her role as Jaya. All the other supporting casts had done their job perfectly.

Analysis

Shree Narayan Singh had chosen an excellent script written by Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal. Shree Narayan Singh had executed the script with perfection, without boring even though it is a message oriented film. The first half had been designed excellently with how Keshav manages to make his villages build toilets in their houses. However, the second half is a complete message oriented one.

What’s There?

  • Performance of the stars makes the viewers laugh out loud
  • Perfectly scripted message oriented film
  • The director hasn’t failed to project the romantic side; the mild romance works well

What’s Not There?

  • Nothing to pin point as negative except the second half’s message mania

Verdict

Akshay Kumar should be appreciated for committing in message oriented movies like this. If stars like Akshay do such message oriented movies, the messages will reach the people at right speed and time. Toilet Ek Prem Katha is worth watching not only for the message but the comedy and the romance too.
