Uri: The Surgical Strike is an action thriller scripted and directed by Aditya Dhar, a debutant. The film has the music composition of Shashwat Sachdev. Mitesh Mirchandani cranked the camera and the editing is by Shivkumar V. Panicker. The film is produced by RSVP Movies of Ronnie Screwvala. The movie has the star cast of Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina, Kirti Kulhari, Manish Parek, Ivan Rodrigues and Yogesh Soman.
The film is based on the surgical strikes made by the Indian Army in 2016 against the Pakistan launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. In this operation, it was reported that nearly 50 terrorists were killed and this operation was held, as the terrorist attacked the Indian camp and killed 19 Indian Soldiers. However, Pakistan denied the incident. The film has been narrated from the eyes of Major Vihaan Singh Shergill.
Vicky Kaushal has done a good job with his role Major Vihaan Singh Shergill. He justified his role with his natural performance and his body language is amazingly good. Yami, Kirti, Paresh Rawal and Mohit had done their roles perfectly.
With the told story, the team has managed to bring what could have happened in the URI attack. The casting team receives appreciation for hand picking the right stars. The team has proved that if the script and the stars are perfect, they could do a superb film without the leading stars. How the Indian army stopped the infiltration is neatly captured. The film is technically sound and gripping. The cinematography and the sound effects are stunning. Although it is a real-life story, the director has brought some cinema effects to it for the hype to certain scenes.
What’s Not There?
Uri: The Surgical Strike is a good film to watch with the family. This film is a dedication to the Indian Army, who work day and night to save the country and the people. Watch the film in theaters and you will definitely like it!
