‘ Yeh Mera India’ shows different kinds of biases prevailing in the society. It shows the comprehensive life in a metropolitan city.
Different incidents occur, all in Mumbai, showing the comprehensive life there. All these incidents are based on biases faced by the characters.
The movie shows religious bias. A pious Muslim man listens to a religious leader whose speech provokes his followers to wreck havoc in the city. The plan doesn’t go well. When it was about to succeed, the follower withdraws from it as he sees a Hindu boy helping a lost Muslim girl.
In another incident, a Bihari guy, played by Rajpal Yadav, arrives in Mumbai. He is in search of some work, but is faced with communal bias for his community in the city. His community is held responsible by the Marathis for taking away their jobs. A politician belonging to the Brahmin caste opposes his son’s courtship of a Dalit girl.
Seema Biswas, a poor woman, works at Sarika’s house. Sarika is the administrator of a large hospital. Semma is an honest woman, but Sarika doubts her loyalty and character. She checks Seema’s purse when something goes missing. When Sarika is faced with difficulty, it is Seema who comes for her.
Perizaad Zorabian is the creative head in a channel. She leads a tensed life due to work and is unable to handle the pressure. She insists her husband to shift abroad.
