CAST & CREW
Plot: Aatagara is of the genre action romance, directed by K M Chaitanya of
Aa Dinagalu fame. This film is adapted from the Hindi film Table 24 of
Paresh Rawal. But the director has taken careful efforts in making it look unique. The film deals with the concept of punishment given to crime. The film showcases that crime should be definitely given punishment even though there are loopholes of the law.
Well, what is the crux of the film? Many individuals from criminal backgrounds unite in an isolated house for the win of one crores rupee out of a reality show. Following strange happenings, some of them being killed in strange conditions, the rest are so baffled that they want to end the reality show. But destiny has different plan for them; the captain enunciates on the wrongs they have done in the society. What follows forms the rest of the story.
Ananthnag is the winner all through the film. Chiranjeevi Sarja, Ravishanker, Parul Yadav Achyuth Kumar, Meghana Raj and Anu Prabhakar also have done justice to their roles. The comedy of Arrohita and Sadhu Kokila is a blend of comedy and naivety. Chiranjeevi Sarja, for the first time in his career, has played a role with negative shades, that too with much conviction. This movie is indeed a suspense thriller which brings you to the edge of the seat. The storyline is outstanding and all the characters in the film are given equal importance. The film’s plot is indeed interesting and it is interspersed with sufficient twists and turns. The film deals with a social evil and it is done in a commendable way. The suspense factors, acting prowess of the artistes, stupendous music ( Anoop Seelin) and cinematography make this a film par excellence. Music director Anoop’s songs are not irrelevant and they stick to the story appreciably.
The film doesn’t stumble and adheres to a steady pace. The dialogue writer should be appreciated in the sense that the characters are given distinguished dialogues according to their roles. The background music is incredible;it leaves you with the feel of the movie even after coming out of the theatre. This film is indeed a novel attempt and it is an inspiration for many filmmakers to come out with such splendid scripts. But again, one loophole of the film is that the director could have taken the concept of some other subject instead of reality show. Chaitanya has also succumbed to the pressure of giving a hit and hence made a flaw. But again, the flaw is forgivable, thanks to the performances of the actors in the film.
