Plot: Katte revolves around the lives of four youngsters who are very careless and have no plans for their future. They don’t even respect their parents at home. Set up in Srirangapatna, Chandu and Nagu are two of the four friends who wish to join politics against their family’s wishes who want to see them settle down with good jobs. They decide to help Nethralaya Nagaraj, a local politician, and also to get into politics. However, when they express their desire to contest the election, Nagaraj makes sure they are defeated. The overthrow disappoints them and also their parents.

Nagu’s father, a railway guard, gives up his life. On the other hand, Chandu falls in love with a girl Shanthi. When Chandan’s father raises a question about how would he earn his living after marriage makes him and Shanthi realize what they were missing out? Nagu too falls for Sandhya and gets his father’s job. Chandu opens a shop to sell old bottles. The rest of the story forms the suspense of the film showing what happens with the two. Whether the two friends are t last able to realize the value of life or not and how.

Analysis: The story is simple as it deals with the lives of the four careless friends and how they deal with their lives. The first half has nothing new with the customary action, drama, comedy, and romance. In the second half, the movie takes a turn with some good plots and twists. Director Om Prakash Rao has nothing great to show, but he does his part well. The film concentrates on the plot without deviating much. The script is good, and narration is also satisfactory, but apart from that, it has nothing new. The film’s execution could be a little better.

Music by S.A. Rajkumar is alright but just like the rest of the movie, it is nothing different. Ravi Kumar Ravi Kumar is an Indian Photographer best known fo >> Read More... as the cinematographer does a good job. The technical aspects are quite pleasing. Overall, it is a very average movie. There is nothing different. Though the film may seem a little different first, later it becomes quite predictable.

Star Performance: Chandan as Chandu does a very appreciable job in his debut. A TV actor before, Chandan successfully carries out his part. His performance says that he surely has a future ahead in cinema. His work is one of the best in the film. Nagashekhar as Nagu does a satisfactory job. He does not perform as well as Chandan does, but there are not many complaints as well. He surely could make a better attempt on his part. Shravya as Sandhya does her role of a next-door-girl pretty well.

However, Rukhsar as Shanthi gets the upper hand among the two. Srinivasamurthy and Avinash play Chandu’s and Nagu’s father’s respectively. Both do their parts well in acting as well as dialogue delivery. However, Srinivasamurthy is ahead of Avinash here. The acting does not have any major flaws. It is genuine and certainly more effort could be added.

What’s there? The film has a decent story. The film does not anything much to show, but it is has a good presentation. Moreover, it totally concentrates on the plot. The performance by the artists is also satisfactory.

What’s not there? The film has a new story but somewhere is pretty predictable. It does not have anything great in it, though. It could be better if more effort were put in.

Verdict: Although it has nothing different, it is good enough for a one time watch. It does not have anything great in it, but it is pretty satisfactory.
