Mridul Nair scripted and directed “B Tech.” Asif Ali, Aju Varghese, Anoop Menon, Aparna Balamurali, Saiju Kurup, Deepak Parambol, Neena Kurup, Harish Raj, Niranjana Anoop, Alencier Ley Lopez, Srinath Bhasi, Arjun Ashokan, Jayan Cherthala and Jaffer Idukki are in the star cast. Rahul Raj is the music director and Mahesh Narayan and Abhilash Balachandran are the editors. Manoj Kumar Khatoi is the cinematographer.
Anand, Nizar and Jojo study the engineering course for nearly eight years. Anand is the gang leader and is a tough person too. Azad joins the college and he too joins his seniors. The film has the essence of the college life, the students' gang and their fights. How the students start their college life and how it ends up is the theme of the film.
Asif’s performance is outstanding. Arjun Ashokan has got a weighty role to do. Aprana and Niranjana had lived in the roles and impressed the audiences. Anoop Menon plays an advocate and as usual, he had done a neat job.
Mridul Nair has chosen a good script, the film about the students, who do their engineering graduation in Bangalore. Although it is not a new genre, it is safe for him to handle. Yet, we could see some newly inserted things in the film, which we hadn’t seen in other campus stories. The second half starts on a confusing note, but the explanation to it is understandable. Asif and Aparna's romance is a bit boring. The cinematography and the technical department had done a good job.
What’s Not There?
B. Tech is a good film that deals with some topics that were not discussed so far in the campus stories. If some contents had been trimmed, then it would have been more engaging. However, B. Tech is a One-Time watch!
