The movie, CID Moosa, is a production venture by Dileep, where he also plays the hero of the movie. The movie has been directed by Johny Antony. There is a lighter vein in the movie, as it has aspects that could draw children to the theaters. There have been allegations that the movie plot draws inspiration from a few English movies meant for children. The intention was to draw the young-aged audience to the theater. The movie was much spoken about during the time of its release. It was even remade in Tamil, but the Tamil version did not meet the expectations of the fans.
Dileep is the son of a cop, and he also desires to become a cop. However, he has an enemy within the family, his brother-in-law Jagathy Sreekumar. Jagathy does not want Dileep to become a police officer. With the help of another police officer, Ashish Vidyarthi, Jagathy sees to it that Dileep does not become a cop. But, Dileep is undeterred and he becomes a private detective. There are some twists and turns in the movie that entertain the older and younger audiences, alike. There are scenes of romance between Dileep and Bhavana that prove to be yet another entertaining aspect in the movie.
Dileep, along with another comedy troupe, have given a fine entertainer to the fans. The other supporting actors are Cochin Haneefa, Sukumari, Murali, Vijayaraghavan, Abu Salim, Kalabhavan Shajon, and Narayanankutty, who have given a commendable performance.
The movie has taken scenes from English movies such as the ‘Home Alone’ series, Police Academy, and the ‘K-9’ series. Although scenes are plagiarized, it tickles the funny bone of the audience. There are costumes of Spiderman and Superman in the movie, worn by Dileep, which intend to draw audience among children. The movie could be viewed by those who love comic series. It also happens to be a milestone in the director’s career, as it proved to be a big hit, and sufficed the expectations among the Malayali audiences.
